There’s something relaxing about the cool, crisp autumn air. Warm, fuzzy sweatshirts, the smell of fireplaces and of course Pumpkin everything! As Summer is coming to an end, it’s important to make sure you keep your health regimen and fitness motivation in motion and the days get shorter.
As the holidays come closer, here are some tips to still look amazing and stay way ahead of the game.
Make sure you stay motivated! I can never stress this enough, as we tend to get comfortable in a routine or even get used to skipping workouts. I know, getting up at 5am in the pitch-black cold mornings may seem awful, compared to staying in your warm bed. But, this if the end result and why you’re doing this! Plus – getting your workout done in the beginning of the day, will make you feel accomplished and more motivated to complete other tasks throughout the day. If you have a bad day, just remember that you started your day off right by taking care of your health!
Multitask your workouts. So, the thought of free-weights weights may not excite you, but if you’re in a crunch for time, multitasking your workout will not only boost your metabolism, but will help increase your heartrate! For example, if you’re standing in front of the mirror doing bicep curls, try to do some squats in-between your arm reps. Also, try a class that incorporates your whole body! That way, you’ll not only get your body moving, those classes are designed to target everything single muscle group.
Meal Prep Sundays! Sundays are a perfect day to prepare for your week. With time to go food shopping and prepare, make sure you make foods and meals with plenty of lean proteins, fruits, vegetables and fiber. Invest in plastic containers and portable containers, which will make storage and transportation a synch! There are plenty of make-ahead recipes that are easy and yummy. Stay Outdoors! Grab your jacket and get on your bike. Bicycling is a great outdoor workout. Getting some fresh air and allover body workout. Walk the dog! Just because you don’t feel like walking, doesn’t meant the dog doesn’t! Try driving to a new park or place you’ve never been, so you can get a chance of scenery. You dog will thank you (especially all the new smells)! Sign up for a Fall 5K – there are plenty out there! It’s a great way to get your family and friends involved with you, whether it’s for a good cause or just for fun.
